MED-MFC Production and Monitoring

This site documents the MED-WAV production and delivery workflow operated by HCMR as a Production Unit (PU) of the Mediterranean Monitoring and Forecasting Centre (MED-MFC) for Copernicus Marine.

The documentation deliberately separates current production behavior from planned changes. Monitoring and coordination must remain non-intrusive until validated in parallel with production.

Core principles

1. Production remains autonomous if monitoring is unavailable.
2. Observe before introducing control logic.
3. Upload completion is not the same as successful ingestion.
4. Future coordination must establish one authoritative owner per cycle.
5. Events, checks, errors and final results should be retained as an auditable history.
6. Credentials and secrets must not be stored in this documentation repository.
